Borrowing and renewals

The loan service is intended to provide documents and other bibliographic material to the users for external use.

The loan service is available for:

Institutional users

a) Students enrolled at the University of Pisa;
b) The teaching staff of the University of Pisa, including any person who, even temporarily, is teaching or researching at the University and the administrative staff of the University of Pisa.

External users

a) The retired teaching and administrative staff of the University of Pisa; students, teaching staff and administrative and technical staff which is related to scientific and cultural institutions in which the University of Pisa has agreements with.
b) External: all of those who, for study or research, are allowed the loan services by the head of the library branch.

 

Admission procedure for institutional users

To enjoy this service it is sufficient to show a valid ID card or booklet/student ID card to the circulation desk of the university library.

The loan is made an individual basis and must be made in person; in some cases it is acceptable to delegate a person with a photocopy of your ID card to make out a loan. The return of a borrowed book can be returned only by the holder of the loan, without any delegation. 

Admission procedure for external users

To enjoy this service you must sign up to the loan service and present it to the circulation desk of the university library with a valid ID card. It will then be at the Head Librarian of the library branch’s discretion to allow the loan request based on the justifications presented.
